2007- Maine, PEI Nova Scotia, & Boston

This year we decided to stay on our own soil instead to traveling to Europe. We decided to do the Maritimes.

Our first stop was in Boston but it was only for one day...basically to meet everyone on our tour.

We headed to Maine the next day, stopping to look at lighthouse after lighthouse

On our way to our final destination in Maine, we drove through
Kennebunkport and drove by the summer home of President Bush.

We finally made it to Bar Harbour, Maine

The owner of Block Buster owns this small boat

Bar Harbour is a very cute shopping area on the coast.
We ate at Route 66, which is a really neat place full of one man's yard sale adventures...although now the items are priceless.

Whale watching!Let me explain how cold it was....imagine sitting on an ice block, in a cold shower, in front of a industrial size fan...and then imagine it a bit colder.
all that for this....

My first Lobster!

So funny...that creature squirted her right in the eye!

We took the Ferry from Maine and headed to Halifax, Nova Scotia.

We took a tour of the city, relaxed in the public gardens and went to the Casino across from the hotel...i only lost 20 bucks (and thats all i played)

The next day we visited a grave yard where over a hundred people are buried from the Titanic.
We stopped at Peggys Cove in Halifax. It was pretty foggy so we couldnt venture to the edge. Good thing, as i would have most likely plummeted to my death...the klutz that i am

Our last night in Halifax we went to an All in the Family musical spoof dinner show. It was hilarious!Chadd always gets picked to do the crazy stuff, so he got picked to dance, kiss a lobster, and pledge some kind of oath to the family.

We drove over to Cape Breton Island for a few days.

We were supposed to take a scenic drive up the Cabat Trail on Cape Breton Island, but it wasnt very scenic to start out.

This is what we were supposed to see:

And this is what we saw:
Fog
More Fog
And just plain fog

Later in the afternoon, during our ice cream break, the fog lifted and the scene was beautiful

After spending a few days on Cape Breton Island, we took a ferry boat over to Prince Edward Island. Our first stop was in Charlettetown.

We went to see Anne of Green Gables the musical.

LM Montgomery- author of "Anne of Green Gables"- her birth home- looks like the home in the movies.
Went to a replica of Anne of Green Gables house.

What a romantic way to die for a mouse:)
Rasberry Cordial!!!

Cavindish , Prince Edward Island

Our final stop of the tour was in Boston:

Where everybody knows your name...

Random graves....

I have a strange obsession with Paul Revere...i just love this story

Here is the steeple as we were heading out of Boston..you really can see it from pretty much any direction.

This is Paul Revere's grave. It's actually the smaller one next to the bigger headstone. Paul did not want people to come "worship" him when there were so many other people worth looking at. So he demanded that a no name be buried in his plot and he would be buried next to it.
We got to go to Fenway Park to see the Boston Redsox play. They lost this game but they ended up winning the championship later in the season.

It finally stopped raining and this was an awsome site to see the tarp being brought up.

I love cotton candy. Chadd went to go find me some and he came back with this pitiful bag. He said this was the last bag in the whole stadium...and the greedy people still made him pay for it!

Goodbye Friends!
